About one-third of all marine fish species live part of their lives on coral reefs

Corals are the source of new drugs to treat diseases like cancer and HIV. A recent report estimated that 75 percent of remaining coral reefs are currently threatened, and many have already been lost. Even some of the most remote and pristine reefs are losing species at alarming rates.
